2022 Album of the Year!



This year is going to be a little different. In addition to the ALBUM OF THE YEAR, I am also going to give you my SONG OF THE YEAR. Music is very personal. It tells a story and allows for a glimpse into one's soul. We may not always know how to express feelings but we can typically find a song that touches on those emotions. This has been an emotional year for me and I think the songs of the year will exemplify that. Nevertheless, these five songs meant something to me this past year and I believe were some of the best songs of 2022. And after that, the reason you all came to this blog post, we will countdown to the ALBUM OF THE YEAR!

Here are the five complete albums that stood out this year with number one being the ALBUM OF THE YEAR! These albums are all great, though the number two and number one spots could easily be swapped. Those two albums are phenomenal. I won't go into a deep dive of the infusion of jazz and hip hop with Butcher Brown and how the synths and style of Basic Printer have hints of experimental and mainstream pop. But what I will say is that these albums are all good in their own way and each hits me differently depending on the day. I have said in past years, the way I ultimately end up choosing my ALBUM OF THE YEAR is typically based on the album that I want to listen to over and over and over again. And this year's number-one album does just that. It's the album I gravitate to and just want to keep listening to it. So enjoy the 2022 ALBUM OF THE YEAR COUNTDOWN!

2019 Album of the Year

Once again it's time for my Album of the Year post. I know you are all excited. I can feel the anticipation. It's thick in the air like some kind of chowder that has been left out in the sun for too long. Gross! What was I talking about? Oh yeah! The 2019 Album of the Year! Below are seven albums I think you should know about from this past year. They are in order of which they were released. Then at the bottom, I will unveil my top pick for 2019!  And....here....we...go! 1/25/19 Keuning - Prismism  Prismism is the first solo release by Dave Keuning, guitar player for The Killers (one of my favorite bands). I'm always excited when I hear anything by The Killers or members of the band. 2018 Album of the Year

Wow! It's been eight years that I have been doing this. I'm not sure if anyone actually reads these blogs. I keep hoping that one of these "album of the year" winners will actually see that one fan out here believes their album was the best album that year. Here is a list of the albums that were released in 2018 that I bought in 2018. I bought other music this year but not all of it was from 2018. Nevertheless, here is the list of what I bought.
